Undoubted winners!

Every year we have Scintillations - L&T's Annual day function. This year, the main event happened on the eve of 17th of Dec. Before the main event there were a lot of interesting prelude activities taking place in our company. The entire office was divided in different planets and competitions were taking place within these planets. I belonged to planet Venus.
One of the competitions of my interest was "Product Merchandising"! This involved creating innovative and variety of products from waste/reusable materials. After the so called success in the Face masking completion, I took the lead in carrying out this activity for our planet. Number of ideas started floating in my mind... and I started working on each of them!
My team included some very talented girls from my planet. They all were equally excited about the whole thing. For the entire week and half we worked together and separately on different projects... and the end our team came up with 50 different products made out of materials ranging from newspaper to shoes!!!
Criteria for winning was: Variety, Use of material and Presentation. We had variety, we had made use of all kinds of scrap materials... and when compared with the other planets ... our display and presentation was OUTSTANDING!!
All in all it was a wonderful experience... had a lot of fun! And we turned out to be the undoubted winners!

Here are the links to few of the interesting items that I made out of waste material!

e- wall hangings!

Floppy disks to used as wall hangings. The floppy disk clip also works well to hold photos.

Face masking competition

On Dasara, our floor in office had organized a Face Masking competition. The floor was divided into different Wings... the deal was to create four masks on the theme of Diwali/Dasara/Durga pooja. We picked the Durga pooja theme. We only had an hour and a half to finish this task.

The plan was to create a scene of Mahishasur wadh. We started right on time and finished right on time …

Out of all the masks, our mask of Maa Durga was by far outstanding... had it not struck me to use 'Zhirmilya' for her mukut this wouldn’t have
been possible!

With the masks we made and the presentation that we gave we had to win ... and we did! :)

Forever in our hearts …

Here is one of my first craft project… Papa this one is for you:

Every step I take, every move I make, every smile I break, every prayer I say,
I'll be missing you.
Thinking of the day, when you went away, what a life to take, what a bond to break,
I'll be missing you.

The poem/prayer here is something that I found on the Internet… it just touched my heart…

Forever in our hearts

If tears could build a stairwell
And memories were a lane
We would walk right up to heaven
And bring you home again

In sorrow we watched you sinking
And watched you fade away
And though our hearts were aching
We knew you couldn't stay

No farewell words were spoken
No time to say goodbye
You were gone before we knew it
Can someone tell us why?

Our hearts still aches in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it means to lose you
No one will ever know

You will never be forgotten
We pledge to you today
A hollow place within our hearts
Is where you will always stay
